Medicare Part D Notices

Employers that provide prescription drug benefits are required to notify Medicare-eligible individuals annually as to whether the employer-provided benefit is creditable or non-creditable. Creditable coverage is coverage that is expected to pay, on average, as much as the standard Medicare prescription drug coverage

Notice should be sent to all Part D-eligible participants. This includes active employees, COBRA qualified beneficiaries, retirees, spouses, and other dependents of the employee covered by the plan.

In preparation for the Medicare fall open enrollment period C2 will email Medicare Part D Notices to all employees for clients that sponsor group health plans that include prescription drug coverage.

Additionally, employees may obtain electronic copies of required notices such as the Medicare Part D Notice of Creditable Coverage, HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, Notice of COBRA Continuation Rights, Health Insurance Marketplace Notice, and Medicaid/CHIP Health Insurance Information at any time via their C2Connection access.
